Jamia's Ahmad Garib Unani Medical College is a unique college of its kind in the State of Maharashtra that has been in existence over 13 years. The College conducts course of KAMIL-E-TIB-O-JARAHAT (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) B.U.M.S. according to the curriculum and syllabus as prescribed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, (CCIM) New Delhi.
It was established in 1996 with the aim of popularizing the education and science of Indian System of Medicine. The College is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik .

210 boys and girls are studying in it. 310 students have completed their course successfully and have become qualified doctors. Out of which three students have won the Gold Medal.

The Maharashtra Medical Education & Research Center, Pune has established the Z.V.M. Unani Medical College & Hospital, in 1984 to provide professional education to the minority community & thus improve the quality of education.

The Z.V.M. Unani Medical College & Hospital, Pune is approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, and affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (Nashik) and to University of Pune.

It is an aided College with an intake capacity of 60 students.

The College also conducts post graduate courses in two subjects i.e. Moalejat (General Medicine) and Tahaffuzi – wa – Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine) with intake capacity of 6 seats / subject.

The College is situated in the heart of Pune Cantonment area in the eastern part of the city. It is connected to the M.G. Road at one end and Shankershet Road at the other. The College is just 3 Kms away from the Pune railway station, 1 Km away from Swargate Bus Station and is at walking distance from the Mahatma Gandhi Stand, a central bus terminus of Pune Camp area for Pune Municipal Transport. It is also connected by rail & air to almost all the important cities of India. The city of Pune is called the “Oxford of the East”.
