But unfortunately the Muslim community, second in population in India, is far behind in the field of modern science and technology, in lack of opportunity and encouragement. Dr. S. Hafeez Salfi and his associates naturally felt the need of a Unani medical college.
This long cherished desire and the demand of the time was fulfilled when the “SALFIA UNANI MEDICAL COLLEGE & Hospital” was established in the year of 1981 under the supervision and control of a registered trust “The Anjuman Ahl-e-Hadees” Darbhanga and protected under Article 30(i) of Indian constitution.

Darbhanga has been the seta of learning since long. It has its own culture. This ideal city, Darbhanga was the capital of erstwhile princely state of Darbhanga-raj. At present it is one of the commissionaires of Bihar State. Darbhanga is situated in north east of Patna at a distance of 140 kms on national highway route, which is directly connected by train as well as bus service.
